Hunting Deer
Deer Season 2002
Ellington
Ellington Doe, Dr. Adam Free, Billings, Montana

The Hackamore offers a limited number of quality whitetail buck hunts on over 22,500 acres. Habitat includes timbered river bottoms, sandsage grasslands, shinnery oak grasslands, and open mixed grass prairie.

The Hackamore manages for quality whitetails through a selective harvest plan that encourages the harvest of older-age class animals. Each hunt also allows the hunter to take an antlerless deer at no additional cost. Our antlerless harvest plan is a key component of overall herd and antler quality.

You can hunt from our ground blinds, tree stands, or box blinds located in areas of peak deer activity. If you prefer, you can use your personal tree stands and blinds. We are very flexible. With limited hunts booked each year, you will have literally hundreds of acres to yourself without the worry of seeing other hunters in your hunt area!

We understand a key component of a quality hunt is minimal deer disturbance by hunter activity. If you hunt the “big boys” you know it doesn’t take much pressure for them to start doing the nocturnal thing. We like to keep them active during hunting hours!

Our ranches have had limited deer hunting pressure, so if you are looking for a quality hunting experience, the Hackamore is the place.
